Chief McCormickStatement from the Fire Chief

Welcome to the East Bay Regional Park District’s Fire Department webpage. It is my honor to serve as Fire Chief for the District. As you will see, the Fire Department is committed to prevent, respond, control, and minimize the impacts of fire, medical, aquatic and other emergencies which occur within and adjacent to District parklands.

We strive to provide the highest levels of professional emergency services, remain fiscally responsible, provide for the safety of personnel and promote the overall mission of the District.  Whether wildland firefighting techniques, fuels reduction strategies, lifeguarding methods, swim programs or safety campaigns, we aspire to continue as a leader in all we do. We take seriously the public trust placed in us to serve our citizens and the environment.

As a long-time resident of the San Francisco Bay Area and frequent park user, I share in the enjoyment of District parks and recreation areas available to us all. I recognize the important balance we must maintain in addressing concerns of our diverse constituency. If you have any comments you would like to share with me, please feel free to use this contact form.
